KF 30: Module IiI
Manage Your Investment Process
This Module is designed to help you develop and sharpen your investment process, from sourcing and picking to winning the most competitive deals.
We built this module around a lesson from Chris Fralic, who, during his tenure at First Round Capital, invested over $100M across roughly 75 startups. His modest investment in Roblox ultimately became one of the largest returns in VC history, converting $3.5M of invested capital into roughly $1.5B at the time of Roblox's IPO. What made the difference was not access, hype, or obvious signals. What made the difference was picking: Chris stayed focused on the substance of the company and the founder's vision, even when the market wasn't paying attention.
Great investing is about having the conviction, judgment, and process to pick the right ones and win them. This module will help you examine how top VCs source opportunities, evaluate companies with limited information, and position themselves to win in competitive situations so you can build the instincts and frameworks to make better investment decisions.
